Patients wear a series of Invisalign aligners for two weeks, with the average case lasting a full year. Keep in mind that this entire process depends on the severity of an individual’s misalignment.
Following treatment, our dentists recommend a Vivera retainer, which is also clear and is similar to the aforementioned Invisalign treatment.

Invisalign® is a clear system of removable custom made aligners. The aligners are manufactured from human grade dental plastic and are so thin you’ll forget you are wearing them.
Depending on your customized prescription, you will receive on average between 11 and 50 trays that you’ll swap out every seven to 14 days. Again, this is dependent on your customized Invisalign® prescription.
You will wear your aligners for 22 hours every day. The only time you remove your trays is when you have something to eat and when you brush and floss your teeth.
Because clear braces are invisible, no one will know you are wearing them except you and your dentist. Furthermore, Invisalign® is safer than traditional braces as wires and brackets can break leaving you with a punctured cheek or lip.
Invisalign® is also more hygienic as you remove your aligners when you clean your teeth. Because braces are permanent it is impossible to brush under the brackets and wires. This makes brushing and flossing difficult leaving you more susceptible to tooth decay and gum disease.
If you are a good candidate for Invisalign® you’ll enjoy fewer dental appointments as well. Tradtional wires and brackets require twice monthly visits. With Invisalign® you will only need to see one of our dentists every six weeks.
Time is another advantage as Invisalign® only takes between 9 and 18 months. If you opt for wires and brackets you may have to wear them for up to two years followed by a retainer for another 12 months.
Invisalign® is a solution that fixes mild to moderate crooked, tipped and misaligned teeth. Even people with small spaces and under and overbites could be good candidates. However, just like anything you must schedule an appointment with one of our locations for a thorough examination.
